Hong Kong International Airport is adding high speed WiFi and free shower facilities as it tries to catch up with other popular airports in the region, like Changi in Singapore and Incheon near Seoul.
A recent poll put Singapore’s airport as the best in the world, with Incheon third and Hong Kong in fifth place.
Officials at Chek Lap Kok said the new shower facilities in arrivals were opened last September, and about 100 passengers use them every day on average.
The airport also plans to expand its high speed WiFi coverage from the current three locations to 11 areas by the end of the month. The WiFi is said to offer a download speed of up to 400mb per second.
Chairs equipped with USB charging points and power sockets have also been added near gates 1 to 4 and 15 to 19.
